Factory 35s Overview

Jeep announced factory 35s for the Gladiator on October 26, 2026. The limited-production 2027 Gladiator 35-inch Tire Launch Edition covers the Willys, Rubicon and Rubicon X trims. Its official release calls it the first factory-installed 35-inch tire option for the truck. However, Jeep has not published a price. This article therefore prices the other side of the choice, the aftermarket build, line by line.

Owners have added 35s to Jeeps for years, and the parts bill grows quickly. Tires are only the first item. Bigger tires change the effective gearing, so some owners regear as well. A lift, wheels and flare extensions then follow. Our Gladiator Launch Edition story covers the package specs. This piece sorts out the money first, then the warranty and the gears.

Over four years with my 2020 Gladiator, I tested 33s, 35s and 37s. I wrote up the results in my long-term test of 35s. This experience shaped the questions below. The numbers, however, come from Jeep, Ford, Amazon listings and shop quotes.

If you lean toward a parts build, these three LT315/70R17 all-terrains are the tires priced below. LT315/70R17 is a common 35-inch size for 17-inch wheels, and each Amazon listing sells one tire, so order four.

Factory 35s Key Facts

The table lists what Jeep published for the Gladiator package, plus the two nearest factory options. Jeep left the price blank, so the table says so.

Aftermarket 35s: What the Tires Cost

Tires come first in an aftermarket build. Amazon lists LT315/70R17 all-terrains from three brands, one tire per listing. On October 28, the Mastertrack Badlands AT cost $206.06, the Hankook Dynapro AT2 cost $322.07 and the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 cost $388.99. Four tires therefore total about $824, $1,288 or $1,556.

Those totals exclude wheels, mounting, a spare, a lift and flare extensions. Jeep bundles several of those items into the Gladiator package, including bronze 17-inch wheels, a 1-inch lift and highline flares. If you build your own, price each item before you compare totals. Our Jeep lift kit guide covers the lift options.

Regear Cost: The Bigger Bill

Regearing is the biggest single line in the build. Rebel Off Road lists new gears in both Wrangler JK axles at $1,899.99 installed. Exodus 4×4 quotes $2,150 for a JK. In a December 2020 JL forum thread, one owner reported a quote near $2,000 from Four Wheel Parts. The same owner said a friend paid about $3,000 locally. Another poster put a regear at $2,000 to $3,000. Two posters in the thread suggested 4.56 gears for 35s, the ratio Jeep chose for the Gladiator.

Add those quotes to the tire totals, and the DIY floor is about $2,700, built from the Mastertrack tires and the Rebel quote. The ceiling is about $4,600, built from the KO3 tires and a $3,000 regear. This range still excludes wheels, lift, flares and tax. For crawl ratio and locker trade-offs, read our regear guide.

MotorTrend puts the Wrangler Xtreme 35 package at about $3,000. Jeep’s Wrangler Laredo release says the Xtreme 35 package brings 35-inch BFGoodrich KO2 tires and a 1-inch lift. The Laredo also pairs them with bronze beadlock-capable wheels. On a parts build, wheels and a lift would add to the $2,700 to $4,600 range. However, the release does not list gearing, so the price does not show whether a regear is included. Ask your dealer for the ratio before you compare the two.

Warranty: Factory vs. Aftermarket Parts

According to Mopar, a new Jeep carries a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Ford lists the same terms for the Bronco. Factory parts should ride under this coverage. Jeep has not published warranty terms for the Gladiator package, so ask your dealer how it treats the tires, wheels and lift.

Aftermarket parts work differently. Jeep’s warranty page says its coverage excludes damage due to aftermarket parts. The FTC sets a limit on this language. Its guidance says a company cannot void a warranty or deny coverage solely because you used a part made by someone else. Even so, expect questions about a driveline failure after you add aftermarket gears. This is general information, not legal advice.

Tires carry their own coverage. The Mastertrack listing, for example, includes a 3-year road hazard warranty from the seller, separate from the vehicle warranty. If you buy a set for your truck, keep the receipt with your service records.

Big tires also need air management on the trail. An onboard compressor refills them after you air down, and a plug kit handles a trail puncture.

What This Means for You

If you order a new Gladiator and want 35s, the factory package gives you one invoice, one dealer and one matched set of parts. Wait for Jeep’s price first. If it lands near the Wrangler estimate, the factory route would compete well with a comparable build. The package also covers wheels, a lift and flares. MotorTrend expects a Launch Edition premium on top of this figure.

Because Jeep is selling the package on new 2027 Gladiators, owners of existing Jeeps do not have it as an option. Instead, your route is the parts build. Tally every item first, then choose gears with your tire size in mind. Also ask your dealer how it handles warranty claims on modified trucks before you spend the money.

Ford buyers face a similar choice. MotorTrend says the Bronco Sasquatch package includes 35-inch tires, upgraded shocks and locking differentials. Next, ask your Ford dealer for the Sasquatch price on your series and compare it with the same tire-plus-regear math above.

Final Thoughts

Factory 35s remove a lot of guesswork. You get a lift, gears and tires matched by the people who built the truck, and you avoid chasing parts across several shops. First-time buyers especially benefit when someone else has already matched the parts.

The aftermarket route still suits some owners. You pick the tire, the wheel and the lift height, and you spread the spending over months. I lean toward the factory package for anyone ordering a new Gladiator, but I would wait for the price. A package near $3,000 would be hard to beat, while one far above it would push me toward a parts build.

Either way, you are choosing between a package and a project, and both suit the right owner. When Jeep posts its number, hold it against $2,700 to $4,600 for tires and a regear. Then add the wheels, lift and flares you would still need. The regear costs more than the tires, so do not judge a build by the tires alone.

Factory 35s FAQ

Do factory 35s cost less than aftermarket 35s?

It is too early to say, because Jeep has not priced the Gladiator package. MotorTrend puts the Wrangler Xtreme 35 package at about $3,000, while tires plus a regear alone run about $2,700 to $4,600.

Will a lift and 35s void the warranty?

The FTC says a company cannot void a warranty solely because you used an aftermarket part. Jeep does exclude damage caused by aftermarket parts, so a dealer decides case by case.

Do you need to regear for 35s?

Not always. Jeep pairs the Gladiator package with a 4.56 final drive, and shop gear charts run from 4.10 to 4.88 for 35s depending on engine.

Is the factory package available for a truck you already own?

Jeep’s release covers new 2027 Gladiators available to order in North America. It lists no retrofit option.

Which Gladiator trims get factory 35s?

Jeep lists the Willys, Rubicon and Rubicon X trims for the Launch Edition.
