Rebelle Rally Teams: What to Know Before the Start
The 2026 Rebelle Rally teams leave Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Thursday, Oct. 8. Organizers list 45 crews of two women each, led by Jeep with 13 entries, Toyota with 11 and Ford with nine. Also, the 11th edition ends Friday, Oct. 16 at the Imperial Sand Dunes in California.
This is a navigation rally. Organizers say it is not a race for speed. Instead, crews use a paper map, a compass and a roadbook. Phones stay sealed, and a handheld tracker records each checkpoint because there is no GPS.
The route covers more than 1,500 miles in eight days across California, Nevada and Utah. Because the distance is long, stock vehicles face real wear. Also, 13 of the 45 teams drive Bone Stock vehicles with no performance modifications.
Navigation is the core rally skill, and you build it at home with cheap tools. A baseplate compass, a navigation protractor and a waterproof map case cover the basics of working a paper map. Here are paper-map tools worth a look:

Who Is Competing: Rebelle Rally Teams by Brand
Jeep leads the official team list with 13 vehicles. Toyota then follows with 11, while Ford fields nine. Together, the three brands account for 33 of the 45 entries. Because I have owned two Wranglers and a Gladiator, I am not surprised to see Jeep on top.
| Brand | Teams | Models |
|---|---|---|
| Jeep | 13 | Wrangler and Rubicon (9), Gladiator (4) |
| Toyota | 11 | 4Runner (6), Tacoma (4), Land Cruiser (1) |
| Ford | 9 | Bronco Raptor (3), Ranger Raptor (3), Bronco (3) |
| Land Rover | 3 | 1993 Defender 110, 2025 Defender, 2003 Discovery II |
| Ineos | 2 | Two rookie teams |
| Subaru | 2 | Forester Hybrid, Crosstrek |
| One each | 5 | Chevrolet Colorado, Honda Passport, MINI, Nissan Xterra Pro-4X, 2006 Porsche Cayenne S |
Ford has the largest share of the Bone Stock teams. It holds five of the 13 stock entries, including four Raptors. Our Ford Raptor Rebelle Rally preview covers the factory entries in detail.

Pickups also appear across several brands, including Jeep, Toyota, Ford and Chevrolet. Four of the six trucks in our best midsize overland trucks ranked list also appear in the field: the Tacoma, Gladiator, Colorado and Ranger Raptor. Meanwhile, the Land Rover entries span three decades, from a 1993 Defender 110 to a 2025 Defender.
How the Rebelle Rally Classes Work
Organizers split the field into two classes. The 4×4 class holds 41 teams. Because every vehicle has four-wheel drive and a two-speed transfer case, all of them have low range. Team numbers start in the 100s.
In contrast, the X-Cross class holds four teams with all-wheel drive and no low range. Their numbers start in the 200s. The four 2026 entries are the Subaru Forester Hybrid, the MINI, the Honda Passport and the Subaru Crosstrek.
Next, Bone Stock is a designation separate from the two classes. It means a stock vehicle with no performance modifications. The top Bone Stock team in each class wins a trophy, and the manufacturer wins a trophy too. For example, BMW reports its 2025 X5, which was nearly stock, won the Bone Stock award at the 2025 rally and also finished second in X-Cross.
Two badges also appear on the team list. Electrified marks battery-electric, plug-in hybrid and hybrid vehicles, and three teams carry it. International Cup marks a crew of two non-US competitors, and one team has it. Also, 16 of the 45 teams are rookies.
Honda Passport TrailSport and the MINI Debut
First, Honda enters team #208, called Good TrailSports. Abby Connolly and Amy Hein, both Honda engineers based in Ohio, drive a 2027 Honda Passport TrailSport with no modifications. They are rookies in X-Cross, although this is Honda’s eighth year in the rally.
According to the Honda release, the 2027 model has 9.65 inches of ground clearance, which is 1.38 inches more than the prior model. Honda also redesigned nearly 70% of the major suspension components. The Passport uses a 3.5-liter V6, a 10-speed automatic and the i-VTM4 all-wheel-drive system. See our 2027 Passport TrailSport pricing for the $49,995 starting MSRP.

Meanwhile, MINI makes its first Rebelle entry. Driver Felicia Killman and navigator Erika Ferrer will run a new adventure-oriented MINI variant. The official team list marks it as a 2027 MINI with an Oct. 6 release. However, MINI had given no powertrain or US on-sale date as of its Sept. 23 release, so check MINI’s own announcement for the final name and specs.
What This Means for You
A Rebelle result is a durability data point, not a buying verdict. Navigation skill drives the scores, so a good finish reflects the crew and the vehicle together. However, the Bone Stock split is the most useful slice for shoppers. Those 13 teams come from six brands: Ford five, Toyota three, Jeep two, and one each from Chevrolet, Nissan and Honda. Jeep leads the full field, yet only two of its 13 entries run stock, while five of Ford’s nine do.
The rally ends in the Imperial Sand Dunes, where soft sand rewards lower tire pressure and a way to get unstuck. If a desert trip of your own is next, a portable inflator, a set of traction boards and a digital tire deflator cover the basics. These picks fit the list:

I drive a 2025 Chevy Colorado ZR2, so the stock Colorado in the Bone Stock group is the entry I will check first. If you shop for an SUV, our ranking of the best overland vehicles of 2026 lists the Land Cruiser, 4Runner and Wrangler Rubicon. All three appear in the entry list.
You also have a way to follow along. The organizers run an official live tracking page, and Rebelle U offers free online courses.
Final Thoughts
Forty-five crews, 13 stock rigs and no GPS make this a useful look at how factory vehicles hold up over 1,500 miles. Jeep, Toyota and Ford lead the field, the Passport TrailSport and the MINI are the new faces, and the Oct. 16 finish is the next date to watch. Read each result as the crew and the vehicle together, not a buying verdict.
