Quick disclosure before we dig into Easter Jeep Safari 2026: I have owned five Jeeps over the years, and my most recent was a 2020 Gladiator, the first year the nameplate came back after sitting dormant since the old full-size pickup days. So yes, I am a softy for the brand, which makes looking at the six concept builds objectively a little harder than it should be. Consider yourself warned.
What Happened at Easter Jeep Safari 2026
Easter Jeep Safari 2026 marked the 60th year of the annual off-road pilgrimage to Moab, Utah. From March 28 through April 5, Jeep brought six all-new concepts to Walker Drug in downtown Moab. Specifically, three Wranglers, a Gladiator, a Grand Wagoneer, and a restomod 1986 XJ Cherokee rolled onto the red rocks for five days of trail testing and public display. Which Easter Jeep Safari 2026 Concepts Could Reach Production?
Before you start pricing one in your head, none of these are production previews. So far, Jeep has not announced a production timeline tied to any of the six builds. After the event, five retire to Stellantis’s historical collection in Michigan. Meanwhile, the Gladiator Red Rock stays in Moab with the Red Rock 4-Wheelers for year-round trail maintenance work. If you are looking for the closest thing to a production signal, the Anvil 715 hints at a future overland-focused Wrangler trim, while the Laredo hints at an expanded Willys lineup with retro-styled special editions.
With the ground rules set, here is your full breakdown of every Easter Jeep Safari 2026 build, including specs, design cues, and what each one signals about Jeep’s next chapter.

1. Jeep Wrangler Anvil 715 Concept

First up, the boldest swing of the six. To start, Jeep designers took a Rubicon 392 (470 horsepower 6.4 liter V8) and rebuilt the entire front end. The inspiration came from the rhino grille of the 1960s Kaiser Jeep M715 military truck. As a result, the new nose sits roughly four inches further forward than a stock Wrangler’s seven-slot grille, which lends the Anvil its name.
On top of the reworked face, a non-removable raised roof adds about four inches of headroom and four skylights, selling strong safari vibes. Underneath, steel bumpers, rock rails, and 37-inch BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain KM3 tires on 17-inch wheels do the trail work. Inside, a driver-facing tablet replaces the infotainment screen and runs Trails Offroad maps. In addition, forward- and rear-facing lights support night driving and camp setup.
Your takeaway: Overall, the Anvil 715 reads like a blueprint for a future Wrangler overlander trim. Importantly, designers intentionally left the exterior uncluttered so owners could picture their own tent and cargo setup on top.
2. Jeep XJ Pioneer Concept

Next, catnip for 80s kids. For this Easter Jeep Safari 2026 build, Jeep purchased a 1986 two-door Cherokee from its original Reno, Nevada owner. The odometer read 80,000 miles. Even better, the owner kept meticulous fuel records for nearly four decades. Because the SUV was in such strong shape, the design team kept the factory Champagne Gold Metallic paint and 2.8 liter V6 intact. From there, they trimmed the fenders for 17-inch wheels designed to mimic the originals.
For suspension work, the XJ rides on an ARB two-inch coil-spring lift with a disconnecting anti-roll bar and 33-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires. Outside, carbon-fiber flares and body-matched rock rails finish the exterior. Inside, Jeep kept the original dash and Honey bucket seats. On top of those preserved originals, the team added wooden bead seat covers, stuck a Moonies cling on the window, and tossed a Labyrinth lunchbox plus an Apple Macintosh Plus box (turned into a cooler) into the cargo area.
Your takeaway: In short, the XJ Pioneer ties the 1984 Cherokee’s SUV-defining debut to the 2026 Cherokee nameplate return. It is the rarest kind of build: an OEM-plus project done by an actual OEM.
3. Jeep Wrangler Buzzcut Concept

Third on the list, the Buzzcut. First, the Mopar team chopped two inches out of the roof, laid back the windshield, and sloped the rear glass of a two-door Rubicon. As a result, even with a Jeep Performance Parts two-inch lift kit and 37-inch BFGoodrich tires, the squat proportions read bulldog. On top of the silhouette change, Vitamin C metallic paint, flat fenders, wide rock rails, and steel front and rear bumpers from the Mopar catalog round out the exterior.
Inside, the Buzzcut gets clever. First, the rear seats are gone. In their place sits a Diabolical Inc Slipstream lockable security enclosure. Meanwhile, the front buckets come from the Dodge Charger, reupholstered in Katzkin leather and suede. Up top, a Rhino-Rack Pioneer platform sits above the hardtop, paired with a foldout Amp Research step and an integrated grab handle for access. Finally, under the hood, a turbo 2.0 liter inline-four breathes through a Mopar cold-air intake.
Your takeaway: Overall, every Mopar accessory on the Buzzcut is available at your Jeep dealer’s parts counter. As a result, the build doubles as a rolling showroom for Jeep Performance Parts.
4. Jeep Wrangler Laredo Concept

Fourth on the Easter Jeep Safari 2026 roster, back-to-basics in the best way. Built on a Wrangler Willys with the 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 and a six-speed manual transmission, the Laredo concept nods to the 1980s CJ Laredo trim package. From there, Jeep added a two-inch lift, 17-inch retro slotted mag wheels with CJ center caps, and 37-inch BFGs.
For the cabin, half doors and a hardtop with a sliding canvas section bring the outdoors in. However, the design team deleted the motorized part of the Sky One-Touch Power Top for purist feel. As a result, you open and close the canvas by hand in this concept. In addition, vinyl floors replace carpet, and the seats wear Southwestern-print horse blanket upholstery as a nod to the Texas city the trim package is named after.
Your takeaway: Bottom line, the Laredo concept hints Jeep might expand the Willys submodel with retro-styled special editions. For buyers who want a cheaper Wrangler with real character, this is a tease worth watching.
5. Jeep Gladiator Red Rock

Fifth, unique in this group because it stays in Moab permanently. First, Jeep donated the Red Rock Gladiator to the Red Rock 4-Wheelers, the volunteer club behind every Easter Jeep Safari since 1982. As a result, the build supports year-round trail marking and maintenance work.
On the hardware side, the Red Rock includes a Rock Krawler Suspension Overland X Pro three-inch lift kit, 17-inch beadlock wheels, and 37-inch BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain KM3 tires. Up front, a Warn winch sits behind a steel front bumper. In the bed, a Bedslide cargo tray and a Leitner Designs cargo rack with GearPod storage containers carry tools and supplies. Finally, TYRI lights, an ARB air compressor, a steering stabilizer, and Armorlite flooring finish the build.
Your takeaway: Ultimately, the Red Rock is the one concept from this group you will see again. So watch for it on Moab’s trails for years to come. If you love Gladiators, our Jeep Gladiator coverage has more.
6. Jeep Grand Wagoneer Commander Concept

Last on the list, the Grand Wagoneer wears a Jeep badge again for 2026. Because of the brand realignment, the design team wanted to show the full-size luxury SUV belongs on the trail. Specifically, the Commander Concept is built to tow a dedicated trail rig and still hold its own in the dirt. For the suspension, Rock Krawler handled the lift. Up top, the wheels are 20 inches, wrapped in 35-inch Nitto Recon Grappler A/T tires.
Underneath, custom skid plates protect the underbelly. Above them, a custom roof rack carries seven Baja Designs sPod lights to light up the trail ahead. Outside, the body side graphics are a modern take on classic Wagoneer wood paneling. Specifically, contour lines pulled from a topographic map of Canyonlands National Park repeat on the panoramic sunroof.
Your takeaway: On balance, the Commander Concept makes the case for a Grand Wagoneer Trailhawk or Rubicon trim. Since the 2026 Grand Cherokee is losing its Trailhawk badge, Jeep has an opening to plant the off-road flag on the full-size flagship instead.
Which Easter Jeep Safari 2026 Concept Belongs in Your Driveway?
- First, want a production-ready overlander? The Anvil 715 is closest to how a factory overland Wrangler could look.
- Second, love the retro scene? The XJ Pioneer and Laredo both win here, depending on whether you want 1980s time capsule or 1980s CJ throwback.
- Third, looking for dealer-accessory inspiration? The Buzzcut shows what you could build yourself from the Jeep Performance Parts catalog.
- Finally, need a full-size rig for towing and trail duty? The Commander Concept nails the brief.
After the event, five of the six concepts retire to Stellantis’s historical collection in Michigan. Meanwhile, the Gladiator Red Rock stays in Moab with the 4-Wheelers club and goes straight to work on trail maintenance.
