What We Found at Overland Expo Mountain West 2026
Overland Expo Mountain West 2026 ran August 21 to 23 at The Ranch Events Complex in Loveland, Colorado. Across the grounds, 335 exhibitors set up shop. We walked every aisle with a camera and gave 23 companies a few minutes each, numbered below in the order we hit them on the floor. Some were familiar faces. Others we had never heard of showed products we had no idea existed, from a hammock strung inside a Bronco to a folding propane fire pit the size of a laptop.
The picks below favor companies solving a problem in a different shape, not the tenth version of a product already on the shelf. As a result, the list runs heavy on truck campers, modular bed systems, hard-shell tents and power hardware. For context on who we expected to see going in, read our 2026 Mountain West preview. Consider this the after-action report on the best overland gear at the show.
Two things separate this show from the rest of the calendar. First, Colorado residents made up 69 percent of attendance, and the vendor mix leans local and four-season to match. Second, the venue itself changed dramatically before the gates opened, and it changes again next year.

Nearly half the crowd had never attended an Overland Expo before. First-time buyers shop differently, because they compare whole categories before they compare models. On a show floor, the effect shows up as long lines at the sleeping-system and power booths.
Truck Campers, Trailers and Bed Systems
Hard-side living space drew the deepest crowds at Loveland. Five builders showed either the box you sleep in or the structure holding it up. Between them sat more new overland gear than any other corner of the show.
1. Iron Peak Campers Apex 8.0
Roughly 19 inches longer in the bed than the Apex 6.5 shown at Flagstaff, the new Iron Peak Apex 8.0 reads as a small apartment. Specifically, composite panels rated R12 handle four-season use. The build sheet covers a 130-liter fridge, a Truma diesel heater and hot water. Aluminum cabinetry, an induction cooktop and a Trelino composting toilet round it out. Arkto builds in Edmonton, Alberta, and puts no wood anywhere in its trailers. Panels are XPS foam sandwich, 1.5 inches thick and rated R7. Underneath, a galvanized steel chassis carries a 75-year lifespan by the company’s rating. The C10 holds a 10-cubic-foot pantry, a 110-liter fridge and a 31-gallon water tank. In addition, lithium capacity reaches 640 amp-hours, and standing height reaches 6 feet 11 inches. Step up to the G12 for 960 amp-hours, 1,000 watts of solar, a 37-gallon tank and a standard 270-degree awning. The C10 starts near $49,000 and the G12 near $55,000.
Arkto C10 Overland Trailer

Venturous builds the SOLO using its PolyFuse process, a patent-pending injection-molded fiberglass method rather than traditional hand layup. The name reflects the pitch. For example, one person converts the truck from a fully enclosed cap to an open bed rack without a second set of hands. The whole system weighs 182 pounds and lists at $4,445. Venturous now shares a facility with Ranch Fiberglass under parent LTA Manufacturing, so production capacity sits behind the product.

Overland Expo independently confirmed the rack at 400 pounds dynamic and 1,000 pounds static, so a rooftop tent mounts up top without drama. Because the rack carries the load, the cap adds enclosed storage on the same load path. Pre-orders opened at the show, and release lands later in 2026.
TRUKD Bed Cap

Rooftop Tents, Air Tents and One Very Good Hammock
Sleeping systems filled the middle of the show floor, aisle after aisle of them. Six earned a second look. One of those six upended what we expected from a night inside a Bronco.
6. Meraki Hammocks Vehicle Hammock
Randall at Meraki Hammocks builds hammocks strung inside a vehicle, not between two trees. Fitments cover the two-door Bronco at $250. The four-door Bronco, Bronco Raptor and Jeep JLU each run $275. A $600 tandem setup hangs two hammocks side by side in a four-door Bronco. Notably, the mounting bracket carries U.S. Patent No. 12,696,970. Each hammock is sewn to order in the United States, and buyers pick fabric and stitching colors to match the interior.

I would never have expected to be this comfortable inside of a Bronco. At 6 feet and 232 pounds on a good day, if I wasn’t on limited time, I would probably take a nap.
7. Cube Explorer Pro Edition Air Tent
Cube Air Tent came from South Africa for its American launch. The Explorer Pro Edition uses no poles at all. Instead, the included LYFTED Turbo Pump inflates the frame in about four minutes. Specifically, fabric is 150D Oxford nylon with a 420D floor and a 3,000 mm PU waterproof rating. Open dimensions run 9 feet 10 inches by 11 feet 6 inches, with 6 feet 7 inches of headroom and 107 square feet of floor. The packed bag weighs 66 pounds, and the Pro Edition lists at $1,999. The Haven adds LED lighting, an integrated heater duct and a 2.5-inch foam mattress. Both frames trade packed height for usable headroom and foot space. Power, Light and Heat for Overland Camps
Electrons and warm air made up the other half of every buying conversation. Power hardware is also where new overland gear lands first, since electronics move faster than sheet metal. Starlink batteries, fire pits and gasoline heaters all sat within a few aisles of each other. None of it looks glamorous, though every piece earns its weight on a cold night.
