Want a 2022 Toyota Tundra? You’ll Have to Wait…

2022 Toyota Tundra

A while back, Toyota revealed its redesigned 2022 Toyota Tundra with much fanfare. The truck was in desperate need of a refresh, and Toyota obliged with a new design that looks to deliver on both style and substance.

There’s just one problem…

It seems that there might be a significant wait time to get your hands on the Tundra.

What’s the Wait for the 2022 Toyota Tundra?

A Detailed Look at the All-New Toyota Tundra

According to CarsDirect, the wait for a new Tundra could be anywhere from four months to over a year-and-a-half depending on the trim level you want.

It should be of no surprise that the source of the long waitlist is primarily due to a lack of inventory from the continuing chip shortage.

Normally, there would already be a healthy stockpile of 2022 Toyota Tundras already completed, but no such stockpile exists this go-round. In fact, Toyota will only ship 61 of its new 2022 Tundras to the Los Angeles area over the next three months. Yeah…61 trucks for one of the largest cities in the U.S.

Also of no surprise is that the longest wait is for the top-of-the-line TRD Pro. The wait for that truck will likely be at least nine months. With that kind of wait, it might be a 2023 model you get your hands on, not a 2022!

All indications point to continued chip shortages, and as a consequence, continuing low inventory of new vehicles across the board, not just for the Tundra. Good things come to those who wait, though, right?
