I've been watching the Aussies drive around with the dual spares and was wondering if it is worth having them. To me it seems a bit overkill and pointless as they will add a lot of weight to the vehicle. Any thoughts?

I am thinking of putting 33 or 35 inch tires on my old G wagon. It is a naturally aspirated 300D (OM617) so not much power. Presumably, on road it will suffer a lot. However, what about off road? Will I be making it better or worst than it currently is?

Just incase you ever need to, have you though about how you can get yourself out of mud without a winch?
