Why no roof top tents made from aluminum vs plastic and fiberglass?

I don't get this, why are the shells of roof top tents made from plastic and fiberglass vs aluminum? That's a TRUE hard shell. Is it because the metal retains heat? But then again that works in your favor during cooler weather.

Personally I would like a nice riveted aluminum cap. But I am a bit old school.

Absolutely, that would be one heck of a strong top! But would cost more to produce, then peeps would be complaining about the price.
