When does a lift start affecting normal handling?

I hope this question comes out how I'm thinking. So, if you put lift on your truck, at what point does it start negatively affecting the handling on normal driving?
 
Raising it up any amount is going to mess with your center of gravity. That said, IMO if you go with 2-3" lift, that will be a mild difference. If you plan on going something crazy like 8", yeah, you might see some differences.
 
+1 Any time you start raising your vehicle up, it's going to mess with CG (center of gravity) and affect your ride.
 
What sort of lifts are you all running on your rigs? Are you doing just overlanding or rock crawling?
