Washing sleeping bags

How often are you washing the sleeping bags you take out? The problem I've had in the past is that sleeping bags always seem to fall apart after a few times in the washing machine. Well maybe not that quick, but we were washing after each trip, and it seems like we didn't get long life from these sleeping bags. How often are you washing yours?

I wash mine a few times a year, in the washing machine then hang to dry. I now use my bags more as heavy blankets.

If you hang dry doesn't all the stuffing get pushed to one end of the bag?

Pretty much. They get hung over the line about the center so its not too bad. It could also be the bag design.

We wash ours about once every couple months, but we hang dry the bags, which on a good windy day will dry it out by end of day.

I'm doing the same thing, wash in delicate, set the spin cycle to low or medium. Then if during summer hang dry outdoors, during winter or cooler months I stick in the dryer set at low heat
