Sharpening your knifes in the field?

How are you sharpening your knives while in the field. I had to be honest, for the last 17 years or so, all my knifes in my house and ones I take with me on camping trips have been sharpened by an old timer who lived around the corner from my house. He used to have a storefront back in the day that sharpened and sold knives and speciality axes. He closed that store down 15 years ago. I was a loyal client so he continued to sharpen my knives from his home garage. Well he just moved out of state! And as pathetic as it sounds, I have very little experience sharpening a knife.
