Lithium battery in your engine bay?

Any of you placed a lithium battery in the engine bag of your rig? How does it fair with heat and cold (if you are in cold environment)?

Now I might be wrong, but you might want to check with your vehicle manufacture on this one. I thought alternators in our rigs typically are not designed to properly charge a lithium batteries.
