Hey gang, Merry Christmas. My wife just bought me a couple solar panels as a Christmas gift. Only possible problem is that these panels are 24V and all my systems are 12V. Can I still use these new panels?

I thought there was a way to step down the power, am I correct?

Hey there! First of all, Merry belated Christmas! 🎄 That's awesome that your wife got you solar panels as a gift. Now, onto your question – if your new solar panels are rated at 24V and your systems are 12V, you're on the right track. You can definitely still use them.

To step down the voltage, you'll need a device called a voltage regulator or a charge controller. This handy gadget will ensure that the 24V from your panels gets converted to the 12V your systems need. It's a pretty common setup in solar power systems, so you should be good to go with the right equipment.

Enjoy your new solar panels!
