Electric vs Gas chainsaw?

Hey all,

Good evening. I'm trying to make a decision on which chainsaw to get: Gas or Electric. From what I can see, there are pros and cons to each. Can I ask which did you go with and what was the reason?

I love my electric chain saw. Its an 18".
The only down side is, due to battery, its only good for small projects. If I had to cut a cord of wood, I would need a gas powered.
I bought mine because all the crap in the California fuel eats the carburetors in my gas powered lawn equipment. I've gone 100% electric.

But then again spare battery will extend that footprint for the electric. I just watched video on these guys that drove Canada border to Oregon and they brought one electric and one gas and used the HECK out of both. Big trips might not be bad idea to have both.

Ha! I remember that video "the jungle" is intense. 9 hours of running those saws, that one day. Those saws saw some serious use. But good reason why you need to have backups for intense trail running.
