4 inch lift VS 2 inch. What are the pros and cons other than the obvious?

So I am in the process of building a truck for overlanding and the time has come to install a lift kit. I am debating between a 2 inch lift and a 4 inch but cannot really decide.

Is the 4 inch really needed? Can I get away with a 2 inch that is also cheaper?

I will be hitting some of the tougher tracks but nothing too crazy

I think a 4 inch is unnecessary for overloading. It is also much more expensive as it starts involving longer control arms, steering components and many other peripheral stuff that can be avoided with a 2 inch.

For overland 2 inch is perfect. 4 is a bit of a pain when loading up the vehicle and will probably not behave as well on road. As you have also said it does cost significantly more too
