35s will bog down that 4.0 for sure but you can do some power mods to bring it back. If you like hitting the tough trails then go for the 35s

Get an ARB one. The good quality products usually do not have issues and even if they do you have good warranty to cover the damage

JLs handle the 35s without issues therefore I would go for a 35 to get that additional clearance and off road ability. You might get some increased fuel consumption but I don't think it is a deal breaker

The main difference is when the trail gets really tough. The articulation on the solid axle will make all the difference. Also, they can handle a bit more bashing around before stuff start to break. For most situation they will be pretty similar. However, ig you want to hit the really tough...
