I am thinking of going for some skinny but tall 33s on my rover. I need the axle clearance but since the truck is underpowered and the axles aren't very strong normal 33s may be a bit too heavy. Any thoughts on this? I believe the lighter weight of the skinnies will suit the vehicle well

As long as you have diff breathers in the engine bay and no leaks from the axles no water should be able to enter the axles. A good way to check though is to remove the filler plug from the diffs. It looks good but I fear that Toyota will hold back the the mechanical stuff that make a great off roader. I would imagine IFS for sure (no chance of a solid axle) and if it is electric I fear it may even have an IS rear and some weird transmission to go with the motors. We'll see though...

For remote travel, it's definatelly Australia. For rock crawling and tough trails I would say the US has the upper hand. In terms of people and support I think both countries are great. Depending on the type of adventures you enjoy one country may be slightly better than the other

Earplugs! You can't do much about this mate, a tent will always be a tent with its pros and cons.
