When ever we cool in our larger cast iron pots, food sticks horribly to the sides. Then comes the added bonus of trying to clean it well in the field. May I ask if you have any tips or suggestions on cooking with cast iron please?

If you saw my other post, I’m having concerns about breaking down off grid and would like to plan for more. Which includes having some common parts that break on overlanding rigs. Or shall I say, what are some parts that most will carry with them for emergencies?

I would really like to learn how to work on my own truck. If been thinking for some time, that if something happens while I’m off grid, that could get expensive to get back to civilization for repairs. So if I learned how to do some of the mechanic work myself, this could be a big deal...

I'm going to chime in on this thread, didn't know the answer to this myself. So on that silver mesh you show above. How would you get that into a water container and I'm guessing you still need to replace that from time to time right?

You couldn't pay me to get out there and drive on ice. No thank you. My father ice fished when I was a kid and he told many stories of cars going under.

We just picked up this toilet and can't get the $h!^ out of this thing! Literally!! When I'm holding this upside down over the public outhouse and trying to get the liquids and 'stuff' to come out, it doesn't! There must be a valve I'm missing here. Please help!

My wife wants one of these and was just talking about getting one. Actually looking to see if there are alternatives that might be better of better priced without compromising quality.

But if water is boiling at 5 minutes from a Jetboil wouldn't that still purify it?
