What happens when you don't have chain tensioners?

I just realized that my new chains I bought don't have tensioners. Is this the end of the world or can I use bungee cords as a short term solution? Looking on Amazon and all the ones I think will fit won't get here till next week. I'm heading to the mountains in 2 days. So do I absolutely need them or can I just use bungee cords?

Just drive slow. But this all depends on how much play is in the chains to start with. Bungee cords will work

+1 if you have lose chains, you can cause body damage and tear your brake lines with these flopping around

You can do serious damage to your trucks body, it doesn't take that much speed to get those chains flopping all over the place
