Ticking noise from 2017 Wrangler motor

Perfect start to the week. This morning while accelerating onto freeway, there was a decent pop noise and now my motor is making this semi faint ticking noise. There was small puff of smoke that came out of truck when this happened.

Any idea of what this might be? Or where I can trouble shoot please?

Are you experiencing low power, check engine light, misfire or anything else beside the noise? What color was the smoke and did it disapate quickly or kind of hang there as you drove away.
Does it make the noise at idle or only driving?
If you can hear it at idle, I have some techniques for pin pointing the noise. If its only driving, your going to invest in some chassis ears to pin point it.

Going over your symptoms, I cant think of anything that would do that short of a hole in something (piston, head...). Those would be obvious.

ticking noise could be a lot of things. Last time I had ticking noise in my car, it ended up being the valves. Did you have a mechanic look at your truck yet?
