Thinking of importing a defender from the UK to Canada. Is it a good idea?

Not really mate. Most of them are rotten to pieces! You have to be really careful buying from there
 
I agree with the above mate. You wouldn't believe how bad cars rust in the UK. I would import from Spain, Italy or Greece. Cars are mint over there and the steering wheel will be on the left not the right like the UK
