Shelf life for tire repair kit?

I have a tire repair kit in my truck that I have not used and it has to be a good 7 years old. Should this be replaced every so XX years? If so, how often should I replace?

Make sure the glue didn't dry up. I have a tire plug kit that has to be well over 15 years old. The case its in broke and I put it in another box last year. Everything was still in good shape.

These sort of kits are pretty inexpensive, I would just order another one , and take what parts of the original that are still good and combine into the new one
