Securing camp when you need to run into town?

If you have camp set up and need to run into town for something, will you pack up camp to head into town, or will you do something to keep things safe and secure when you leave?

If you are the person that packs up everything, what are you doing to keep the campsite looking taken so someone else doesn't take it?

Either myself or my wife will stay behind at camp while the other makes the trip into town. This actually happened a couple weeks ago when we ran out of propane.

I've never needed to run into town, but if I need need to, I would have someone stay behind.

Usually my wife will make the run into town and I'll stay behind at camp

If I'm solo, just deal with it and stay. If I'm with others, sober drives

Benefit of having a van, we just drive the camp into town.
