Removing pine pitch from tent ?

I have some pine pitch on my tent, it's been wiped and of course it smeared and made a larger mess. Any ideas on how to remove this from the fabric?

Good question but I did not have to ever do this. I would imagine a relatively soft brush, some water and soap should get it all off

Water isn't going to do nothing. Your best bet is a tad of mineral spirits on a cloth and try lifting with that. Once the pine pitch is gone, come back with soapy water.
