Controlling downhill speeds when towing trailer?

What is the best way to go down hill while towing a trailer with out destroying your brakes? Are you all keeping your truck in low gear or do you just ride the brakes?

I use a combination of manually shifting into lower gear, and feathering brakes. Make sure trailer brakes are set where they need to be ahead of time.

So true, but yet so many people don't watch their speeds while towing. Every year we always see accidents involving people towing a trailer way to fast. Then you read that the person didn't have electronic brakes on the trailer and you have to wonder what they heck were they thinking.
