How are you securing your firearms in your truck?

When we leave the trailer at the campsite, they go with us. When we're at the campsite, we have direct control of them. We don't stay in campgrounds, but if we were, we would probably use a console vault or similar if we were staying where other people were around.

    Under 1800lbs Expedition trailer options?

1875 pounds, but like any trailer will get heavier depending on how much you load it up.

    Under 1800lbs Expedition trailer options?

I know the old ones were made in South Africa and typically imported to Australia. Quite a few found their way to the United States and they come up for sale pretty often. I don't know if they still make them or not.

    Under 1800lbs Expedition trailer options?

A used Conqueror UEV390 is another option.

How much water you carrying in your trailer?

39 in the onboard tanks, then another 36 in water cans in the back of the truck, and a water purifier just in case. I don't think we have ever used all of what we have taken with us yet.

Bet you never saw a camper trailer like this one!

I've probably seen around 10 trailers like that over the years, going back to the 1970s. I always thought they were heavy, but clever ideas.

    Anderson connection is wrong orientation??

I always assumed that the different orientations are so that people using different voltages for different items couldn't inadvertently plug into the wrong power source and fry something. Currently, everything I use Andersons for is +12VDC, so it hasn't been a concern of mine.

    Anderson connection is wrong orientation??

You should be able to order an adapter at www.powerwerx.com. You can also get custom made cables there, in case you want to get a longer adapter cable made in order to keep your panels in the sun while camping in the shade.

    Overlander Shower

We just purchased a Geyser shower this last year for when we don't want to set up the shower on the trailer or when we don't have the trailer. Uses about a gallon of water per shower and is simple.

Do you believe there such a thing as too much light at camp?

As mentioned, when setting up camp in the dark, or when cooking/cleaning dishes, lots of light is great. Otherwise, we have all lights off outside and use the campfire. Once done outside for the night, we go in and just use enough light to read by.

    Solid human waste disposal

We have this style and we just dump it into a pit toilet in one of the campgrounds that we pass on the way back to a main road. Just make sure that there are no signs prohibiting dumping in them first. It has a nozzle so it can be dumped into an RV dump station as well, if needed. In a worst...

Can you identify this canvas tent?

It looks like a Bell tent, but I have no way of knowing the manufacturer.

Potable Water Can that don't leak?

We use the Ozark Trail 6 gallon water jugs. They are available at Walmart or on Amazon. We have been using them for 4 or 5 years without issues. $16.88 each is a lot cheaper than the metal jugs.

Thinking about adding a electric chain saw to kit

I'm looking at the Stihl MSA300 CO https://www.stihlusa.com/products/chain-saws/battery-saws/msa300co/ for an upgrade. Dewalt also has a cheaper commercial landscaper chainsaw that is pretty good, but is a bit dated now. These things get updated/upgraded very quickly nowadays.

    Bears and food while camping

Portable electric fences are also supposed to be very useful. Depending on the terrain, they aren't difficult to set up either. Do some research and make sure you get one sized appropriately for your needs.

Thinking about adding a electric chain saw to kit

The only issue I have had with mine is that the oil line for the bar oiler came off the nipple and leaked oil all over the floor mat of my truck. I would recommend taking the covers off and making sure that there is a hose clamp of some kind on both ends of any oil/fluid lines inside. Other...

    Webasto diesel heater vs others?

Webasto parts are hard to obtain in the U.S., but if you're willing to order from overseas, it's easy to find parts and the Webasto company support is great. I don't know about parts for the Chinese heaters for comparison, but I suspect parts availability for any Diesel heater is going to be...

Water filtration while in the field?

To be honest, we haven't tried ours yet (but we plan to as soon as possible to make sure the one we got works as expected and all of the parts are there). We purchased it this year at the Overland Expo PNW, but haven't yet needed it, so we take it along just in case. My wife tried it from...

Water filtration while in the field?

We only fill the tank from city water (from our hose at the house, or, if needed, a campground). We drink out of our tank just as it is, no need for us to filter city water. We do occasionally "shock" the tank to knock down anything that may be growing, and there is also a small built in...

Water filtration while in the field?

Our trailer's water tank is large enough that we rarely have to worry about running out of water, but we purchased the Guzzle H2O system for longer future trips. https://www.guzzleh2o.com/products/expedition-bundle
