Build a base for it next top the opening of a door so you can have it mounted there most of the time. If you want to take it off and bring it next to you when camping that will also be an option

They don't use too much power mate. I use mine with a Jackery 1000 and do not have any issues

I would go for a used Moza Air mate. They work great and are not too expensive right now
