Which is the safest state to overland in?

A bit of a different question but one I think has value. Since everything has gone a bit crazy lately crime has also been going up. To people who are new to camping and overland sleeping in the middle of nowhere can be a bit scary.

Therefore, I was wondering which state do you think is the safest in terms of crime rates? People may now prefer to travel there instead of the more common areas that also tend to be packed full of people.
