What if I didn't do this with my winch??

Hey guys. When I bought my winch, I put off winding it out and then towing in my truck under weight to set the line. I forget what they call this, but is it too late to do this a year later?

Agree, just pull the line out, strap around a tree and tow yourself in under pressure.
