Use a winch in an aluminum bumper?

I'm looking for ways to lighten my jeep and thought I could ditch my aftermarket steel bumper with one made from aluminum. But if you have a winch, and need to use it, will aluminum hold or be strong enough?

If built correctly, yes. If I could work aluminum, that's how I would build all my bumpers and skids.
