Tire repair when involving sidewall

Morning peeps. Quick question regarding tire repair. If there is a simple nail stuck in the sidewall, is this something that would be OK with tire repair kit? Seeing that plug will fit in there just perfect. Would that hold over time? I've never had a flat like this, but strikes me as one that would be repairable?

I wouldn't risk it, not with the sidewall.

How close is it to the tread area? What sort of off roading are you doing most of the time? Rock crawling and really working out your tires?
