Reliability Mercedes-Benz Reliability Rating declining??

One also has to consider the bar being raised when it comes to luxury car's. Most people reference their quality dropping starting in the early 80's. It wasn't their quality that dropped but the rest of the world being forced to step up. The bar got raised in the late 80's then in the late 90's. If you throw American cars into the mix, we didn't actually build a world class car until early 2000's. Even then, we didn't raise the bar that high.
Today, a Toyota/Lexus is on the the same plane as Mercedes. Audi on the other hand, slipped a few notch's recently.
If you only compare European cars, Mercedes is still in the top three.

People today demand more. Most peoples expectancy over what their car can do, borderline on ridicules'. The biggest issue with the German manufactures is their engineering and their mentality. It's not bad, its just very specific. They expect you to actually read the manual. If you drive the car and service it, exactly as the manual says, the vehicle will preform as it was designed. No more, no less. What happens though is someone buys one and "think's" it should be diffrent, then compline when it doesn't do what they want.
Toyota on the other hand (diffrent mentality), realizes people are not going to do what their suppose to and design their vehicle with that in mind.

Do I think Mercedes quality is slipping? No. Everyone's quality will slip on something. 99% of all vehicle come off an assembly line. You produce a product then 100k vehicles later find out your vender for that part made a mistake. It happens. Sometimes they come up with something new and cool, just to find out people don't like it.

People don't post when a vehicle exceeds their expectation. Their just happy. People will post about something that doesn't meet their expectation. Even if its unrealistic.
