Jeep vs Toyota for first time offroad truck?

I'm brand new to camping and have never owned a truck before. From what snooping around I've done on off road forums Jeeps and Toyotas seem to be most popular. However my question now is which is more popular, reliable? For a complete rookie, which will be the best, or shall I say, which model would be the best?
