how bad are Land Rover Defenders at long distance driving?

I always wanted a Land Rover Defender but never got around to actually buying one. I seriously considering it now though as the prices are going up and they may be soon at of reach!

My question is how bad are they on the road? Are long stints on the motorway really as bad as people say?

I will also keep my land cruiser so I will have a vehicle for long distance overlanding, but I would also like to do some trips in the Defender

They are pretty bag. I was in one yesterday.

Noisy, bumpy and your shoulder is sitting directly on the pillar of the door.

They are fun vehicles though

Well, it depends on where you coming from. If you get in one straight after you get out of an 80 series land cruiser then they are horrible. If you get in one after you get down a motorbike they are very luxurious 😂

In all seriousness, they are uncofortable mainly because the side of your body that is facing the door has literally no space. Your shoulder rests on the door. That's why people drive them with the windows down and arms outside.

They are also pretty noisy and the seats are crap.

However, when it comes to off roading they absolutely rule!
