Firearm recommendations?

Anyone else getting spooked with what is happening overseas? Crap could hit the fan anytime and things could become a zoo. I'm thinking about getting a firearm, and honestly it's been years since I've owned a gun. As I understand something to keep in mind is ammo availability right? Which is easiest to get these days?

Your weapon should match your hand. I have short fingers so I struggle with double stack mags. grips are everything. 9mm is a good round.
The issue isn't so much the gun but the ammo.
