other than losing some hight interns of storage in the bed there aren't other drawbacks. In fact, I would say it is the best place to mount a rooftop tent. You do not destroy the truck aerodynamics, centre of gravity is kept low, it is easier to climb on it and easier to install

As mentioned above, I can only see positives to mounting a rooftop tent in the bed. The only possible negative may be the additional cost of the mounting system needed to achieve this

Back there is the best place mate. It eliminated most of the disadvantages. Keep in mind though that if the bed of your truck is short the rooftop tent may hand of the back
