One off custom van builds and financing?

My wife and I have decided we want to get our first van, but over the last few years of taking a deep dive into camping, we have learned a few things. It's funny because many of the camping spots we have been on, we have seen a number of these vans that have been converted into these luxury homes on wheels. We have a list of specifics of what we want in our own van. Which will make this unlike anything 'off the shelf'. We are now coming to realization of our dream and now wondering, is there way to get financing on not only buying the van, but also sending it off to get customized as we want. Can this be done in a single loan, or will we need to get two different loans?

Thank you for your help.

Thank you all for the messages here and the PM. We are creeping closer to owning our first van! We are now narrowing down which builder we are going to to go with and with luck, we will have our van towards the end of summer!

Good luck with your purchase. Find yourself an established builder and go get it!

Financing a custom van conversion, combining the purchase and customization into a single loan, is possible through lenders who offer flexible financing options or specialized RV and camper loans. These loans can cover both the van's purchase and the costs of customizing it to your specifications. However, the availability and terms of such financing can vary widely, so it's essential to shop around and consult with lenders who understand the unique needs of van conversions. Some may offer a single loan for the entire process, while others might require separate loans for purchase and customization. Discussing your specific requirements with a financial advisor or directly with potential lenders would provide the most accurate advice for your situation.
