Which GMRS radio you running?

I'm going to ditch my CB and move to GMRS. You mind sharing the radio you are using?

It got to the point where my CB didn't get used anymore and more people were on GMRS. I removed mine earlier this year. Now its GMRS and 2m.

Mine is a Midland, I think its the 400. When you do this, the antenna and cable are critical.
I use this antenna Laird. No ground plane so mounting position isn't as critical (1/2 wave), Great DB gain and good receive. I finally got everyone in my group to switch over to this antenna.
I don't remember which coax I use. I buy it in 100 ft lengths. GMRS is in the 450 meg range, that means you need low loss coax.

Check out Wouxun, they have a powerful 50w unit that is pretty popular with folks as well
