Beaver Built Adventure Trailers is an innovative Canadian outdoor company that has been supplying Canadians and Americans with high-quality, one-of-a-kind adventure trailers for over 40 years. And while the company has grown throughout the years, it remains a family-owned business with 100% indigenous roots.

Their headquarters are in Alberta, Canada, where you can view, test, and rent trailers. Don’t live near Alberta? Don’t worry! Their knowledgeable and friendly customer service staff can help answer all your questions online or over the phone, and they ship their trailers across North America.

Every Beaver Built Trailer comes equipped with all of the most useful features and specs the company’s founder wished he had had during his lifetime of off-road adventuring. Moreover, there are a handful of customizable add-ons that you can connect to the standard “Wapos” model. Keep reading to learn more about the features of Beaver Built Trailers!

Beaver Built Trailers measure 144 inches long and 79.75 inches wide and have a total dry weight (UVW) of 1,050 pounds. Yet despite their compact size, Beaver Built Trailers are incredible gear haulers jam-packed with standard features – loads more than you’d ever expect by looking at them.

Every trailer has an indestructible galvanized steel frame and a powder-coated aluminum body. These heavy-duty, lightweight materials mean Beaver Built Trailers weigh less and carry more simultaneously. Their Gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is 3,527 pounds, and they have an overall storage capacity of 43.2 cubic feet (1,223 liters). That’s a ton of space for outdoor gear!

Another fantastic feature of every Beaver Built trailer is the spacious roof rack. It was designed to be compatible with all the most popular rooftop tents and camping equipment. The rack has eight cross bars for superior support and four inches of height adjustability. The adjustable height allows you to store larger gear (kayak, paddleboard, etc.) between the rack and the top of the trailer.

Finally, all Beaver Built trailers have a large rear door and a food-grade stainless steel countertop. Flipping down the door gives you access to the trailer’s main compartment and the countertop, which is the perfect place to cook.

Beaver Built Trailers Optional Features

The standard features of Beaver Built Trailers already make them some of the best adventure trailers on the market. But it’s their optional bolt-on features that truly make them special. The bolt-on options make Beaver Built Trailers unique because you can add them ANY TIME, not just when the trailer is purchased (like most other trailers).

This means you can customize and adapt your trailer to meet your needs as they change, whether that’s tomorrow or ten years down the road. For example, you may be a solo adventurer now but plan to have a family in the future. Thanks to the revolutionary modular design of the Beaver Built Trailer, you can simply alter and expand the one you already have instead of buying a whole new trailer!

Without a doubt, the signature bolt-on option is the side boxes. Attaching the two side boxes transforms the standard “Wapos” trailer into what Beaver Built calls the “Mahkesis” and adds an extra eight cubic feet (227 liters) of storage capacity.

The kitchen drawer pullout and kitchen management system are also extremely popular additions. They help create a full mobile kitchen in your trailer and are must-adds if you are a backcountry chef.

Check out the list below to discover the full list of amazing bolt-on options for Beaver Built Trailers:

  • Pair of side boxes
  • Front box with two locking doors and an extended roof rack
  • Front box dividing wall and shelf
  • Kitchen drawer pullout
  • Kitchen management system
  • Rear drawer with dividers and storage deck
  • D035 coupling with an integrated hand brake
  • Spare tire carrier
  • 2” Tongue deck receiver
  • Armor protection
  • Rear C jacks
  • Custom electrical system
  • 17” Vision Wheels / Yokohama 33” tires

Beaver Built Trailers Off-Road Features

While we spend most of our time driving on roads, one of the most important things to look for in an adventure trailer is its off-road capabilities. With that in mind, you will be thrilled to hear that Beaver Built Trailers are some of the best off-roading trailers on the market and that the backcountry is where they thrive!

Beaver Built Trailers have 15-inch Vision Wheels, 31-inch Yokohama tires, and a Cruisemaster CRS² suspension system. These premium off-roading features allow them to go where very few trailers can and let you control where you can and can’t go, not your trailer.

The Vision Wheels come in two bolt patterns to best match your off-roading vehicle: 6 on 5.5 for Toyota, Chevrolet, and GMC cars/trucks and 5 on 5 for Jeeps. Additionally, the Yokohama all-terrain tires provide excellent grip across all surfaces, and the single-arm suspension reduces stress on the trailer.

Other notable off-road feature include an impressive 19.5 inches of ground clearance, a departure angle of 37 degrees, a 2-inch ball coupler for easy hitching/unhitching, anti-slip powder-coated fenders, a tongue weight of 150 pounds, and a matching full-size spare tire.
