Will you leave wood behind at camp site?

I understand the 'leave no trace' saying. But for camp fires, is it OK to leave a few pieces of firewood if you have it? I've always found this to be a pay-it-forward act. But I came across another who disagreed with me and claimed I was leaving trash. Which wood isn't trash, it's firewood. Or at least that is my 2 cents.

Care to leave your opinion?

Yeah, all the time. Stack it up nicely and someone will appreciate that. Just as I do when I come to a site and there is a few chunks there.

I don't do it often because I always seem to have just enough for my trip and never anything left over. But if I did have left over wood, I would have no problem leaving some behind for the next person to have.

Some people are just too damn sensitive. Go camping enough and you will at some point forget some wood to burn. Finding some at a sight is a blessing. Which leads to hell yeah, I've left wood behind many times.
