Removing seats from 4Runner trip airbags?

I want to add sound deadening layer under carpet. If I remove seats am I at risk of tripping airbags?

Disconnect the battery and make sure everything's connected before you hook it back up. If you don't want to do that, keep the key off and don't hit any computers or sensors with a hammer.

Its actually difficult to set off an airbag while working on the car. Somehow people still do it. Disconnecting the battery removes all chances. People will tell you, it can still happen after the battery's disconnected. The computer store's power for about 15 seconds after disconnecting. That's less time then it takes to go back inside the car. If you pull the front seats and leave the seat air bags disconnected, you get an airbag light. Reconnect with the key off and the light should go out. Its been several years since I accidentally set an air bag code. The light should act the same as it always did.
