Mitsubishi Montero overland build

What do you think about an overland build out of a Mitsubishi Montero? Are they good vehicles or are they mostly suited for road travel? I have heard many opinions on them but never seen one going about as an overland build.

I recon it would be cool as it is different than all the rest

The older ones are good vehicles. As soon as they introduced the model that had independent suspension I t all kind of went wrong. The engines had some issues and was never as capable off road because the suspension had very little travel. I think there is a reason not many people use them and that reason is that they aren't that good
