Kayaks and overlanding?

I have a chance of picking up a Kayak (2nd hand) for a very good price. Just wondering how practical is this? If you have a kayak, how often are you bringing it out with you?

Got one, but only bring it out when I know 100% we will have the opportunity to use it.
