How did you justify the cost of a roof top tent?

I've noticed some roof top tents are not creeping onto $5,000. How in the world do you justify that sort of cost on a tent?

When we would look, how bikers did sleep for a year on a worldtrip - you probably did ask a good question.

But: on a wet and muddy ground a ground tent brings limited comfort at a daily assembly/dismantling.

Roof top tents
- Pros: comfort at wet conditions, easier assembly/dismantling, feels more safe at night (water, animals, people)
- Cons: costs, fuel usage, weight, offroad handicap (weight at the top), roof load weight

Tents always dont covers from the noise of the environments. Pretty similar to popup roofs with tent sidewalls:

for me it was the comfort and the set up. There's a number of them appearing for sale used. People who jumped on the overlanding bandwagon but never went out. The first part to wear out is the cover, their cheap and almost the same across the board. Zippers are what you really need to look at in a used one though.
