Clam shell tents in heavy winds?

We are going to buy our first rooftop tent, a clam shell style. We are often near the ocean with heavy winds. Would you happen to know how these tents hold up to higher winds?

Depends on the struts the tent manufacture used. Now I do know you can get bars that get placed in the struts that will prevent the tent from caving in during heavy winds.

You just need to pitch it into the wind, some tents will have looking bars you can put into the shocks to keep them from compressing when you are inside.

Clam shell RTTs definatelly fair better in strong winds than your normal soft shell ones. Position it correctly as mentioned above and it shouldn't be too noisy inside
