Can fire extinguisher be mounted exposed to elements?

We recently had a close call and my current extinguisher was buried in my rig. Which took a bit to find, and things could have gotten a lot worse. I want to mount my extinguisher on the exterior of my truck, but can a extinguisher be mounted in the elements?

You want to keep it out of direct elements and keeping in mind that you want to keep temps -40 degrees to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

Why not mount it on the back of one of your seats? Or they have mounts that put it along one of the bars in your rig

I was thinking the same thing, there are mounts that position these nice and out of the way.
