For dirt roads yes. For anything else no. Also, I can't really trust new Fords, they seem a bit cheaply made. Do you have a RAV4 now? If yes I wouldn't change it for an explorer. If you need something bigger just step up to a 4 runner or Lexus!

Those are proper off roaders and very reliable vehicles

Not a fan of those things. Keep the RAV4 if you have it! It will last far longer and it is definitely more dependable

Avoid such vehicles! They are not proper off roaders and Ford reliability and build quality has been questionable lately
