What size winch would you get for a mid-sized pickup truck?

I would say a 1000LBS one should be adequate. Remember that you can always use a double winch line pull and essentially double the power of the winch. So, I would save some money and go with the 10k one

10k mate, it will be fine for most stuff and when you do require some extra pull you can always double line pull
