Time for some Defender rock sliders

So, it's time to get some rock sliders for my Land Rover Defender and I am going for custom made.

My question is where is the best place to mount them? Should they bolt onto the chassis or the sills under the doors?

In most vehicles the answer here is the chassis; however, on the land rovers the rails are pretty far in therefore some longer arms for the rock sliders are required in order to reach the lower sills. This means that the mounting legs of the slider bend easier as they are longer so mounting them to the sills may be a better idea.

Any inputs on this would be greatly appreciated.

Where did you mount them on your Landy? Sills or frame?

I think that in order to fit them to the sills you need to drill through them.

Also, if you take a big hit i would image you would also damege the sills as all of the force will travel straight through them.

Personally, I would mount them to the chassis and if they bend its no big deal.

You can repair or make new ones, that's why they are there in the first place

I would also mount them to the frame. The brake isn't going to bend, if the sliders does it's not big deal it can be changed
