How can you make overlanding more enjoyable for the whole family?

I enjoy overlanding a lot, however, my wife and daughter not so much. How can one make the whole process more enjoyable for the whole family? I need to find a way to bring them along as being away for weeks at a time isn't really an option

I'd say try to talk to them and arrange stops that would interest the wife and kids along the way. This will keep them waiting for something.

I think the most important thing is to make sure they are comfortable and feel safe at night. Having a way to shower, go to the toilet and stay cool or warm is crucial for them to enjoy the trip!
