Jetboil vs MSR rocket stove

Hey all, I need to get a portable rocket stove. I know Jetboil, but what about MSR? I just noticed these are a tad less in cost, Are these any good?

I'm in the same boat here. I need to get something small for quick stuff. The guys in my group all have the Jetboil. I wish someone in my group had the MSR for me to compare.

Your question made me go look up comparisons. All the ones I read came out pretty even with the Jetboil only slightly ahead in some categories.
One of the comparisons had a solid negative on the Jetboil which was a positive in another category. The positive was the Jetboil has a piezo lighter where the MSR has none. The bad thing is the lighter seems to have a short lifespan so you end up manually lighting both. None of the other reviews brought this up which make me think it was more opinion based.

Exactly! Reviews are all over the place with no hard line. It's tempting as the MSR are less burden on the old wallet. Hmmmm.
